Otford Christmas Fayre, 18th November 2023
On November 18th, our wonderful village once again transformed into a Winter wonderland as the second annual Otford Christmas Fayre unfolded, casting aside the morning rain to bring joy and Christmas cheer to all who attended. The event saw an impressive turnout, with locals and visitors alike embracing the festive spirit.
St. Bart’s Church started the day off with their own fair at 10.30am and the whole village came alive at 11.00 am with a myriad of activities and delights awaiting eager attendees. Despite the early rain, the day unfolded seamlessly, with the community rallying together to ensure the success of the event.
The heart-warming display of community spirit was evident in the team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to manage the closure of the High Street, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of everyone present. Their efforts allowed the Christmas Fayre to flourish, creating a lively and festive atmosphere throughout the village.
Taking advantage of the break in the weather, the majority of attendees opted to walk to the Fayre, immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere. Over thirty stalls featuring local craft businesses added to the charm, offering a diverse range of unique and handcrafted goods.
The feedback from visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their delight at the community coming together to create such a magical event. Laughter, smiles, and the warmth of Christmas spirit filled the air, creating lasting memories for all who attended.
The Otford Society would like to thank the whole community for making it a unique and special day.
As the Otford Christmas Fayre once again proved to be a resounding success, it highlighted the power of community collaboration and the ability to overcome challenges, such as the morning rain, to create a celebration that will be cherished by our village for years to come.
